Little mermaid 11/6

       On the week of 11/6 we watched my little mermaid. Along with the movie we filled out a worksheet about how it relates to toddler development. I found it really interesting all of the similarities between the two. One was how she had to learn how to walk. And how she gave names to random things.

Baby Einstein movie. 10/30

      This week we watched a show called Baby Einstien. It was a show for toddlers to help them learn. Though I don't really see the use of it I guess I can kind of see how it could help. Also little kids shouldn't be watching T.V.

Infant test 10/23

This week we took our infant test. It had all the information from the unit on it. I think I got a pretty good grade on it. There wasn't really anything that stumped me. The only thing that sort of confused me was some of the birth defects. But other then that I think I got an A.

Infant physical development. 10/2

        On the week of 10/2 we learned about infant physical development. We also learned about the physical milestones. Some infant milestones include sitting up and rolling over. In the infant stage gross motor development is more developed then fine motor skills.

Flour baby shower 9/28

 During the week of 9/28 we did a couple things. One thing in particular we did was a baby shower for our baby shower. That day we did a lot like word scrambles and a game where you are not allowed to use the word "baby." I thought it was fun and interesting.

Lesson plan.

This week we learned about the importance of lesson plans. We need lesson plans so we know what to do and so parents know what there kids are doing. We also made our own lesson plans. Mine was called "Cool colors" It helped teach children about color while also helping improve there physical development.

Toy design

This week in early childhood development we designed toys for an infant. The toy we designed was called the "Comfort pet" It was a stuffed animal that recorded audio and played it back and it had you could put a picture in it. It helped Develop emotional and physical development. It was physical because the baby had to shake it or pull on it to make noise, and emotinal because of the recordings and picture.

The business of being born

This week we watched a movie called "The business of being born."  This movie is about how hospitals will give patients unneeded medications and c-sections. This opened my eyes to how hospitals work. I was also learned about midwifes. Midwifes are people who professionally deliver babies.

Childbirth.

         I learned alot about childbirth today, like that you can induce labor if your body isn't ready to do that.  also earlier this week we watched the miracle of life. It's a documentation of the insertion of sperm to conception of the baby. It was very interesting and full of information.
